Bellydance Fundamentals ~ Wednesday 6pm

The only way to be a strong dancer is to build a strong foundation. This fundamentals class focuses on basic movements, finger cymbals, and dance combinations as well as the history and origins of this amazing dance. This is a great class for absolute beginners or experienced dancers wanting to revisit their fundamentals. ~ 50 minutes.

Bellydance: The Next Level ~ Wednesday 7pm

You learned the fundamentals and have a finger cymbal foundation, now it is time to move to the next level. The focus on combinations and layered movements are taught as well as complex traveling steps. We begin to learn more about the masters of bellydance and the movements that made them famous.

This class will also focus on pulling all the skills you have learned and applying them to performing. Stage utilization, performance technique, and teamwork will be covered. Performance opportunities will be available and are not a requirement to take this class. Many students prefer to study dance without performing which is fine.

Each week, we focus on strength and perfecting this dance form. ~ 50 minutes.

Troupe Practice ~ Wednesday 8pm

For Diva Hips Bellydance troupe members only.

Private Instruction

Ravena has occasional openings for private instruction by appointment only at her studio in Loudoun County. All private sessions are located in the Sterling area unless otherwise requested.

Private session prices vary on choice of location and lesson request. Discounts apply to the Sterling studio only and are provided to those who register and pay for multiple sessions.

All sessions start and end on a set time. The first session is 1 hour 15 minutes. Each session after that is 1 hour. If you are late to a session, the session may end on the time scheduled unless arrangements have been made. Ravena always provides contact information to all private session students and is available via phone 24/7.

If you cancel a private session less than 48 hours, you may be obligated to pay half of the cost of the session. If you cancel less than 24 hours, you may be obligated to pay the full session cost. Pre-payment is preferred but not required. If you would like to host private sessions in your location, additional fees may apply.

Choreography Instruction

Ravena is available for choreography private/semi-private instruction by appointment only at her studio in Loudoun County. This is open to everyone. All private sessions are located in Sterling unless otherwise requested.

Ravena has a list of choreographies available for instruction. If you would like Ravena to choreograph a piece of music for you, the cost varies depending on length of music, complexity, and instruction.

Private Instruction via Skype - Coming June 2012

Ravena is now available to provide private instruction via Skype. This allows you to study exclusively with Ravena from any location.

All sessions start and end on a set time. Technical glitches have and do happen and will be taken into consideration if they occur during our session. When a session is booked, Ravena will provide you with detailed instruction s on how the process works. It is important that your location be properly lighted and free of distraction so the session can continue properly.

Hire Ravena to Teach a Workshop

Ravena is available for workshops instruction. Many of the topics listed are 1-2 hours in length but can be shortened or expanded to fit your set time slot. All workshop participants will receive detailed notes explaining the topics discussed.
