
Ravena began her dance training at the age of 5, and made the shift to bellydance in 2001. After years of intensive training, she now teaches and performs in the DC Metro area and several events along the East Coast. She has formal training in all styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and ballroom dancing.
Ravena has studied and attended workshops with many well known instructors across the US including Suhaila Salimpour, Aziza of Montreal, Rhea, and Yasmin to name only a few. In 2006, Ravena received her level 1 certification from the Suhaila Salimpor School of Dance. In 2008, Ravena was awarded the Aliya Quinn Middle Eastern Dance Scholarship award. She is the first recipient of this award. Ravena was honored to be a Tiraz Featured Artist of 2009.
In 2009, Ravena was featured on the television show Artscape to educate the audience on dance, costuming, and the Middle Eastern culture.
Ravena integrates Egyptian, Persian, and Turkish Cabaret styles of dance, with a modern flair, to create a unique style all her own. Ravena's goal is to perform Middle Eastern dance in a way that is respectful of its origins, and also reflects her own personality and background.
Ravena currently dances and teaches in Loudoun County and is a board member for Tiraz Dance Network located in Loudoun County.
